When did field meets go from camping at a camp ground, to hanging out at a 5 star resort?
After reading that the NY meet is going to be held at "Friar Tuck Resort, Spa and Convention Center", and realizing that the CHC meet is always held in DoubleTree, and RedLion hotels...
When did we get away from a bunch of people camping out with thier birds, and hunting? The d**n hotels are expensive. Not to mention its a female dog laying down all that tarp (buteo ass cannon) in the room to avoid a cleaning bill.
I just think it would be great to go to a field meet held out in some big camp ground, or at least in like a rugged type environment.

Hey, if there's a place to take a hot shower I'm all for it!!! I don't get to go camping often enough. The last couple years our club had our picnics at a rv park where everyone brought their campers and camp trailers for spending the night, does that count? People like convenience. I'm willing to bet you if a camp out meet like that were planned there would be alot of MEN that wouldn't show either.  |

Sure, we'll see how many unmarried men don't go. But then we'll probably never know since it's mostly men that plan the meets so it'll never happen.  |

You know. Im going to email ron brown about this. He is the CHC club pres, and the guy putting on the 06 meet. im curious about this. And Minca, Field meets and camping have NOTHING TO DO WITH HOT SHOWERS d**nIT!!! Do you bring your battery powered heated socks too? A solar powered microwave oven? NO!! YOU ROUGH IT!! I even own a book, "How to nuts in the woods." Its a very informative book |

I personally don't give a sh!t about a hot shower. Yeah, it's nice for when I get home, but it's not really a necessity while camping. My only problem is I don't like sleeping in tents because I don't know what the hell is going on outside... drives me nuts. I usually just grab a blanket and go to sleep on a patch of grass.

Eh, the only reason I brought up the hot shower is cuz most meets have some sort of dinner banquet. But, I guess if we were camping, it would probably be some sort of big campfire like when i went to summer camp as a kid. No campfire songs, though, please.

Speaking of meets, I was thinking about carpooling with someone who's near Naconowhere, or at the very least convoy with to the picnic this weekend. The outher falconer guy in town here is gone until wendsday so I can't ask him until then; plus I don't even know if he's going, so I thought I'd post this Q here to line up other possiblities.
Also the password for the THA forum won't work for me anymore. Did they change it?
