Those daisy mats are the thick door mat type astro turf, so it spreads out the weight on the food. I can't see it wearing on any specific portion of the foot because there are so many little sprigs of the stuff, its like standing on grass. The weight is distributed evenly.

I have to admit in my owls mews she has an assortment of branches and a tree stump and she goes from one to the other.
She does seem to prefer them to the astroturf
