Florida (and Texas) both have some great habitats for snake hunting (not killing). I lived in Fla for about a year after college and brought back a few Florida Kings and a female Corn Snake (aka Red Rat Snake).
I have a 25 year old Corn Snake and a Sinaloan Milk Snake now. Snakes have always held a particular interest for me. In the past I've kept a few California Kings as well.
I really enjoyed finding snakes in the wild while I was in Fla although more often than not, I left them in the wild. It was just fun to find them in their natural habitat.

It amazes me to see how many falconers share an attraction to reptiles. I taught a lower level herpetology class for a few years. I love snake hunting.

On my snake hunting trip to Fla, I found a grand total of one non-venomous snake, and that was a corn snake. I had a great time. I was hanging out with a well known herp vet named Dr. John Rossi in Jacksonville.

Good stuff Photography, lots of guitar and bass, cramming for school (yeah, even in the summer), keeping out of trouble and counting down the days until my brother's boot camp graduation... 67 more days . Hopefully this summer I'll be able to do some volunteer rehab work.

Off season? There's an off season. Hu I'm just gearing up for the ground squirrels and waiting for the snow shoes to re open. Also there is always the fereal rabbits thet have no limits or season. Other than that I guess it's judo, kempo, archery, work and just bumping around. Oh and you guys should go hunting for northern snow snakes. They are highly venomous and there is only one anti-venom ..... Vodka and it only works as a preventative cure not after you've been bit.

Since I haven't seen too many living things hunting other living things lately, I decided to set up a marine tank to house predatory fish. It's a 30 gallon tank whose only inhabitant so far is a Volitan's Lionfish. I plan on adding a Niger Trigger and maybe some liverock next. Then maybe if the Trigger isn't a mouthy bastard, I can add some corals and have a little reef structure/ predator-killstuff tank. Something to pass the time while I wait for my inspection.
