;D Well I finally got started on building my mews this weekend. I am copying Manny Carrasco's mews. Mine will be 20' x 20' total building. The left 10' x 20' will be a combo mew/weathering. The right side will be a closed in area for equipment/shop. I will have plants and stone walks and perches similar to Manny's. I will post pics as I get them, right now all I've done is the layout and the post holes for the poles. If you want to check out Manny's his site is squirrelhawking.homestead.com/home.htmlHe has some good stuff on the site.

Well I got a little more done. I know it don't look like much, but just want y'all to witness my project. The yellow tubes are for the concrete columns that the treated 4" x 4" x 10' poles. The columns will be 1' tall. Therefore the mews side will have a 11' ceiling. The shop side will be 9 1/2' ceiling. The city inspector has to look at it before I pour the concrete. So I will get more pics later after I set concrete and poles. Here are the pics I have so far. Oh yea my conures are keeping and I on me to be sure I do it right ;D

I am jealous. My building restrictions on allow for a 72 square foot storage building. I got approved for a potting shed. It just houses a hawk.

Well I have done some more, so here is an up date. Just for referance that is a 6' latter in the middle of the building. Remember right side is work area, and left side is mews.

Okay I have done a lot since these pics, I will post new pics later. I was wondering, has anyone used pvc for the rods in the window for the mews. I have noticed most common is bamboo, but I noticed at Lowes today pvc is actually cheaper. Has any one used or no someone who has, and what are the pros and cons.

I used PVC on my mew. It has a tendency to get brittle over time. The even better choice would be metal conduit.

I used metal conduit as well, and it holds up pretty much forever. Wish I lived near you. I've got a bunch left over from when I built my mew that I'd give you cheap.

Hey if you need to save some bucks, go with pvc and you can always upgrade later.

Well I lucked out today. The electrician that is working on a new building where I work gave me a whole truck load of 3/4" conduit. It sat in his yard to long and got rusty on the inside but the outside is fine. It is still bundled and in 10' lengths and straight. ;D
