Not yet. I was hoping to have her ready by tomorrow, but Gary thinks she needs to drop another oz. or two before she's at her true flying weight. She's doing well on the creance, though. I'm flying her on the creance again tomorrow (she should drop a little tonight), and if I can't get away from her, I'll know she's ready.

First kill today! After a week of respiratory problems, I took her out, and she killed a female fox-squirrel! I'm happy as hell!

Ok, I'm wanting to know in the two pictures above where the feather damage is. I'm not used to RT's as my first bird is a Kestrel. Do the lice eat the edge of the feathers? I notice they come to an odd point, possibly chewed to a curve. Is that what lice damage looks like?

Check out the first pic..the one with the bird hooded. Look at the covert feathers both on the body and above the secondaries. They have little to no white and are oddly shaped, almost teardrop. The lice actually eat the feathers and seem to have an affinity for the white feathers or the white parts of feathers.

He left already? That sucks! I thought he was waiting until after the THA meet.
Noel, I'd love to head your way sometime and go hawking. My days off have changed to Fridays and Saturdays. Maybe we can work something out.....

I'm free every Saturday....Bring it! Got a wooded area with your name on it since nobody flies there anymore. The ex is gone, Yarak is gone and I don't have a squirrel bird now so it's up to you to do you thing by reducing the squirrel population. I will see if Frootdog wants to hook up too.

I'm in. Just say when. If Dodes needs a place to stay my pad is available. Goose only has 3 squirrels this year. She's up to 58 rabbits.

Frootdog, I may take you up on that offer. And congrats on the awesome headcount!
Cadillac (my bird's official name) killed number two yesterday. It was one of those classic, long fox squirrel chases. My girlfriend and I kept that sucker up in the trees for about 25 minutes before it finally bailed, and the bird slammed it. We're going for number 3 today.
