Going out with a Falconer Yesterday i noticed and so did he how different his MHH was acting. Its his first year so we wondered what was happening.
His MHH Ted instead of following on and generally Hunting on his own suddenly changed from a Bird which was Totally Fixated on His food pouch and Glove. He did not want to even leave his Fist and if cast would move to the closest branch or would fly back straight on to his glove even if it was hanging down by his hip?
I asked him what his weight was he said 1lb 63/4 ounces. What was he usually like yesterday i said 1lb 71/4 ounces was the reply.
He had mis-calculated the weather as it had dropped to -4 where the nights before it was 2 or 3 degrees.
Could such a short reduction of weight really cause such a change of attitude. I can only think it is but wondered what thoughts where on the matter.
regards

If the bird was already at the lowest end of the wieght range then a 10-15 gram difference would do the trick. If it was on the high side it would not have much of an effect.
