What, is a reality check too big for you to swallow? Oh dear, you can't use the internet to contact a falconer, what ever will you do!? We didn't get telephones invented for them to sit on the wall and do nothing. Call the DFG, ask for a list of falconers. That's what just about every falconer has done at the start. Or maybe you could expend even more energy and walk that half of a mile to that falconer's house and knock on his door and get to know him. I guarantee you he knows other falconers that he can put you in contact with. You're right, no one asked me to read your posts or your threads, but no one asked you to whine either. And I'm not the only one getting annoyed, there's a reason you can't post of FB's forum, if I may be so bold as to jog your memory of that. Exactly post meaning singular, not more than one, only one spot. I wouldn't have said anything had this been your first post like this but it's definently not your first. There is a world outside of this little electronic screen that you're reading this post from right now. Use the telephone, you can talk to someone about it that way... I'm sorry but that's what you were told, not us. And I fail to see any arrogance in my last post. All I did was laid out what I thought of your pity party and you can't seem to handle people being direct. Yes, some of us have been in your position and some still are. Like Jelly said, she has been waiting forever to get a bird, we started about the same time. Dustin has been waiting as well. Matt is waiting another year before he gets a bird. Kenbro still doesn't have a bird and if I'm not mistaken, he still isn't licensed either. My little 10 year old brother wants to be a falconer and all of these people put together haven't whined about not being one as much as you. Sure some of them say they wish they had a bird, or how far away getting licensed seems but they never quit doing things to further them along in falconry. Get off your butt, get away from the screen and go do something to further your falconry career. It's summer now (or soon will be for you) so get a summer job, there are two up to help breeders on the Raptor's Nest right now. Or just get a job in your hometown and make some money so you can get out of your 'depressive' (feelsorryforme) state and do something towards falconry. I'm not making you out to be a villain, just someone who isn't seeming too promising or motivated to me. (Sorry Weas, he asked for it )

Do you mean by DFG like Parks and Wildlife (that's what they are here in Texas if we're talknig about the same people) because if it is they can't give out that information any more, you have to go though your state falconry club.

Okay... sooooo where shall i begin... well 1 is a good place to start... 1) the CA DFG doesn't have a list of possible sponsors, in my falconry packet it says "for a list of possible sponsor, contact the CHC" 2) I'm not going to just show up at someone's house, and Bob Armbruster the apprentice chairperson said to me that David MIGHT be sick, and wasn't sure of his health. 3)The CHC is completely done through the internet, and I got a message back from them "Hello, Morgan. A while ago we changed from a Windows server to a Linux server in order to update our shopping cart. Unfortunately, the conversion didn't go as smoothly as hoped and we're having database problems that impact the Private Web. Also, the security settings changed in a way that I'm attempting to resolve with our ISP. Once the problems are resolved, a mass email to all members in the database will be sent providing the new password and user name. Gary "4) I DO have a job in the works, and I'm waiting for them to get my background check in order, you must not have read that in my last post.... that's funny.... 5) and finally, I told weasel to close it, because I didn't create this thread to cause an argument. Not, and I repeat not because i can't take a reality check. (Sorry Weas, he asked for it )

I wish they could, when I was trying to find a sponsor they could not give me any info, privacy crap. Since they didn't I joined the THA and glad I did. The only thing I wish was that once I get my license I could get names closer than a two our drive so I can hunt with others. The TP&W did tell me that there were no falconers in my county or adjourning counties. Also, sky might want to back off a little, we all know whats going on and are also sick of it, but don't aggravate it okay

ooo yeh that's probably what had been happening, easy enough to get that info... "Hi i'm and apprentice, looking for a sponsor can i get a list of people?"... then the next morning, the cars windows are shattered, tires slashed, house egged & tp'ed with a foul message burned into the front lawn. Plus your raptors set free and the mews destroyed. I could only imagine, Yeh I'm glad that only the clubs can give out the info now.

idk how it is were you live, but they wouldn't have enough time to do ALL of that without me waking up and shooting them, I'm not joking either.
And that's not what has been happening if you're say you're looking for a sponcer they're prolly just reluctant to call back. Serously I would not look for a sponcer in the molt. It's best to go hunts with them. Just wait since you've already gotten so much done you can wait the first two month of hunting season before you get your sponcer and still be able to trap.

Any regard I had for you has vanished. You appear to be a simpering child. I am going to spend my holiday leaving voice mails with all the CHC officers I know and recommend they not sponsor you. You have neither the character or intelligence to be falconer. Go now. Leave here and do not return. Yarak

Dustin, its not the same in Cali. But still thats take some time and it is enough to film them and get them in jail. Plus that is the risk of being an animal handler. A year or two ago a horse Barn I worked at was/is located near a highway and is very nice and open. Open and very hard to lock down. One night a bunch of ------- came around and let the horses loose. The horses only meandered to the nearest grass which set off the antis and caused them to abuse and frightened the horses into running to wards the highway. 3 horses were hit and another 26 injured by the idiots. The people were caught and prosecuted but they had no remorse in their little minds they thought they did the horses a favor. That was the risk the barn took being a barn and horse owners. This is the risk we take as handlers. It is up to us not to bring unwanted attention to the bird but when it is received we must protect it and make sure it is safe.

Dustin the problem is we are not home 24/7. That is why I will have camers set up, at least if they do something I will know who to go after.
Oops morgan it looks like you finally got under the skin of the wrong guy, yarak knows a lot of falconers.

You have neither the character or intelligence to be falconer. Go now. Leave here and do not return. Yarak Glad I'm not the only one. All I'm pulling out of that is that you don't have the guts to go ask a falconer in person if you could maybe help him out or ask him a few questions about the sport. Oh really? So I suppose they have a blast when the have the CHC Meets on the Internet, huh? I'm gonna say this one more time, nicely... use the telephone.... And don't tell me you can't get a contact number. I could find Bob's phone number in about 20 seconds and I'm not even from California. If you ever do get around to calling him, ask him for falconers in the surrounding area by you. Funny, you seem to think we're idiots. Maybe we'll miss something once, but twice doesn't happen very often. Now you're insulting our intelligence by trying to hide behind our 'stupidity'. Really? So you created this thread for everyone to go "Oh morgan, I'm so sorry you're not moving anywhere. It's not your fault, just keep at it and you'll make a great falconer" Maybe some people will, but I'm not like that. Maybe the first or second time you make a post like that, but this is well past that first and second post. Just remember that this is coming from your peers (Dustin, Jelly and I) and some from your superiors (kenbro, and Yarak). So when you have your peers and your superiors getting sick of it, maybe it's time to get a clue?

Ok.. yes im hear also. and morgan.. for the love of god.. SHUT UP!! seriously, as Sky said, SUCK IT UP! there are alot of things u can do to keep time.. and "you cant study anymore becuase uve passed the test" IS THE WORST ANSWER IVE EVER FREAKING SEEN! u can STILL read to FURTHER make SURE you know wats going on!!
and yes as sky said, I am waiting another year. you know y? becuase the person that will probably sponsor me thnks i should wait, others have said, nah he doesnt have to wait. but i havnt been around them as much!! its not YOUR decision to move on.. its THIERS (other falconers) they thnk of the welfare of the BIRD not YOU.
what yarak is doing.. is quite possibly the coolest thng. and if you cant handle waiting, (which i have been for the past oh idk.. maybe... 4 or so years? yes since i was 10! and now im waiting AGAIN) your screwed! case closed, this is ABOUT waiting. heres an EASY senario: your out hunting, bird gets rabbit, you let it crop up, windy day, jesses slip, bird flies to tree and sits it down. and u have to go to work in 25 mins?
wat then? WAITING
and back to me waiting, you have NEVER seen me whine and complain about waiting.. (whine and complain about other stuff yes) but NEVER about waiting! and trust me. ive gone hawking many times, and that doesnt help waiting IMO, you know y? becuase u look at their bird(s) and wish you could have one, and fly one, and hunt one!
now morgan, for the sake of all of us and not using up bandwith... just shut up dude. ur whining is wat pissed off everyone in the OTHER forum.. dont do it again....
Matt

Okay guys... I'm sorry I WAS being a jackass... and I didn't mean too. A couple days to cool off, and even looking back at my original post I do realize I was being a baby. I'm truly sorry, and I didn't realize I whine so much. Thank you for showing me that. I was just stuck and venting in a moment of self pity, and I shouldn't have done that. I'm really really really sorry. I try not to be like that, but I get like that sometimes... Thank you all for the reality check, and if you want me to go, well then... I will put myself on a self imposed "view only".
Skyrider - I'm so sorry, I am an idiot... I try not to be, but I'm so passionate about this that when the slightest thing gets in my way I get frustrated about it. I'm truly sorry for taking it out on you, I sometimes have anger issues, and you were there, and I took it out on you, and I shouldn't have.
Yarak - I'm not trying to be a simpering child, I'm just trying so hard and getting no where, I understand now whining isn't the right thing to do. And I'm sorry for wasting your time...
Matt - I have been doing some serious thought about this, and I think I might just wait, as you are. (just like to mention that i have been wanting to be a falconer since elementary school, and I'm finally getting close to achieveing my dreams).
To all - I'm sorry for waisting all your time. I know I'm immature, I see that in myself, and I'm trying extraordinarily hard to fix that in myself. It is my worst quality, and I'm trying, I really am.
**EDIT** I would just like to add, that in real life, I do get a small depression that comes and goes in my day to day life, and I try to keep it to a minimum, I just happened to be on this website when I was in "depression mode" and I took it out on that post, I then got angry over everything else, and I lost it.
I don't know what else to add or say, but I'm sorry, and this won't ever happen again.
