Hey guys in Texas I was wondering if any of ya'll have gotten your federal permits in? I recived my state and it's been 4 weeks and no federal one. Season is getting close and I plan to be out on the lookout for a hen RT on the 15.
Thank you, -Dustin

Not sure how it is in Texas but our Fed and State permits are on the same document in Alabama

Texas doesn't have joint permit.
I called today, and found out the lady is backed up and has no staff right now. She was telling me she hopes to have them all out by the 15th of August.
Thanks for the replay though rampager

That would drive me crazy. Be like having a cool new gun with bullets and no trigger. May be it will get to you by trapping season I have to wait until the 15 Sept before I can even start trapping

I really do I get mine by Sept. 15th. The sponsor is coming over that day so we can go trap. I'm going to start going out in my spare time about mid August and start recording where I see birds out in the boonies were I live.

This is the response I got email from Kamile. As far as I see it according to her, as long as Texas has renewed your permit you are good to go.
"backlog. recd copies of TPWD renewals last week. will take time to process 85+ renewals. your FWS FALC permit is valid under the regs.
TPWD and this office coordinated so if TPWD renewed, FWS will just need to be processed.

If you read your Federal renewal form, it states" If you send this written request for renewal of your permit at least 30 days prior to the expiration date, you may continue the falconry activities authorized by your expired federal permit until the Service has acted on the request for renewal (see 50 CFR 13.22). You can do this only if we receive your renewal request by May 31, 2007. To show that you have requested renewal of your federal permit, make a copy of this signed and dated form and attach it to your permit." It then goes on to state that you federal permit will not be renewed until they receive a copy of your renewed state permit. So if you have received your state renewal and sent your federal renewal in before May 31st, you are good to go. This is for renewals, and not NEW falconry permits. By the way, I received my federal permit today
