Hey folks, my juvi coops is baiting all over the place. Give her six weeks to calm down, and she did but, I'm so worried bout her tarsi I cant sleep. I think hunting helps but her scales are really raw, might even be past that. How do I deal with my super crazy coops that has abrasions on both its tarsi?

If you're not hooding or boxing her, put her in a dark room or closet whenever you're not working with or feeding her. Or find out why she's bating and fix it. I'd put some bag balm or jess grease on her tarsi, too.

try finding out if the bating occurs when feeding time gets close or just before dusk, at these times it would be good to get it loose in a chamber. Greasing the jesses helps, and I donĀ“t know if you have it there, but "Preparation H" (a cream for hemorroids) is what is normally prescribed for the tarsii scales. This problem is well addressed in McElroys books.
