Holy crap. way to make me feel included. is anybody from here? Ok, so truth is, there's about...uh...not very many of us here in oregon, course there's horde's o'those types who are "morally opposed" to falconry because it's a blood sport supposedly. Basically, because animals get hurt. As far as i'm concerned, falconry's just hunting and bird watching in one, and anyone who says otherwise can go to...um...canada, if you take my meaning.
but anyway, isn't there anyone from oregon?

Well falconry is a blood sport, but it is not promoted by man, it is man who becomes part of the natural behavior of the raptor, so, is the hawk hunting the man or is the man hunting the hawk?? In the wild the raptor[RT} lives 5-7 years thanks to humanity ! but in captivity it has been recorded living up to, 28 years/ It is sheltered, fed the best of food daily, medicated, protected, observed by those who may never be able to walk to the wild places of nature to see one, and most of all, loved !! by those falconers who are true lovers of nature..
