I am in Virginia with my West Siberian Laikas. I hope to have a Tazy female soon, but I do not have birds of prey for hunting, only watch wild ones. However, I am interested to know more what and how other people are hunting with dogs and birds.

Many Falconers use dogs in the field and there are always prefered types used for different styles of hawking. I will be hopefully using my new JRT this coming season to help flush rabbits for my Harris's hawk.

I'm set to get a finished mini-dachshund to run with my FRT this July. Now as long as she doesn't try to eat the darn thing, we should be ready to go by mid-Sept. By the way Weasel, how is Zero's (is that your dog's name?) going? -Joe

He is a typical hyper little ****. I think they bred hovercraft into this breed as they never really touch the ground. I will need to work with him this coming season to get used to the birds. Right now, the birds are just another game to him.....He play's "let's see how close I can get to their food while they are eating"......He has only been nailed once this way so far.....He's pretty quick....
