That is true Turok, I have bought several hoods that did not fit. I simply send it back and tell them 1 size bigger or smaller and most reputable hood makers will work with you until you get one that fits.

That's comforting to know. I could just imagine the hassle of measuring the bird's head with tailors tape wrapped around it.

Most good hoodmakers will be able to size the hood by the sex and species of bird. It may differ also as to where in the country you live. East coast birds being bigger than west coast birds.

I had to make Gary's hood fit by flareing the beak opening out a bit. This is done by wetting the leather and moving it where you want it. I simply put the hood on the bird while the edges are wet and wait for it to dry...

rt, Do not take this personally. Their are times when your bird is better off hooded. Those times you will not want to wage war with your bird just to get it hooded. Can you tell why you choose not to hood? Yarak

Yarak Agree with ya yarak m8 The advantages of hooding far out weigh not hooding, for instance if something was to upset the bird it's better to pop a hood on and it go quiet than have ya bird baiting all the time.
