I don't have any blueprints, but I do have a picture of the one I use for RT's in my truck. I will post it if I can find it.

Hey guys im about to build a new giant hood. I was wondering if anyone had the dimensions of the coulsen style box. I want the door to be in the front not the side because i liek those better.

I Louisiana everyone is making giant hoods from 32gal rubbermaid trash cans, they work great and are easy to build. Cost about $30 to make and they double as a bow perch. Michael Beran

Plastic trash can flipped upside down. Put the perch on the underside of the lid. My sponcer uses one also.

I'm not sure how to post pic's but if you can imagine this. Put the lid down on the floor, Turn the rubbermaid upside down on top of the lid so that the lid becomes the floor. Cut a square opening in the side of the rubbermaid, use a turned alumminum square for the door. The perch is attached to the sides at the bottom. A bow perch is attached to the top(which was the bottom) and doubles as a handle to carry the hood My birds love the hood and jump in from 20 feet away I had a HH that would literally beat herself to death trying to get in the hood.

Wow that pretty cool. but what kind of ventilation does it have? i have several holes for air in mine and i have a computer fan on the back that pulls and circulates air for the birds long periods in the hood. so what kind ov ventilation does it have i dont see any holes in yours.

I saw one of these at the THA meet, looked very easy to make and practical. I still like the old wood box type myself though.

Folks,
I had some plans for a light trapping box - obtained somewhere on the net - but have misplaced them. This plan calls for a venting systems that allows for air circulation but not light. If you have the link I would appreciate if you could post it.
Regards,
Chet
