When my bird caught a copperhead snake, she ate so much that it forced the snakes sharp vertabre to puncture the crop wall. The crop wall was left to heal on it's own. The vet was doubtfull that it would heal on it's own, but it did.

I took her to DVM Greg Moore's office and he didn't seem the least worried about it even though it was a 1" hole that had food falling out of it....He did think it would need surgery eventually though.....

She took no notice of it at all and showed no discomfort throughout the ordeal

Copperhead venom would not numb a wound that it caused it would do quite the opposite. It would cause excruciating pain.

I take back what I said... I was flying her in less than a week, but I did not let her eat more than an ounce at a time so that she wouldn't re-open the wound for about 2 1/2 weeks.

So no stiches or anything like that? You just let it heal up and she was cool?
Man birds are amazing creatures.
