i was very innocently(cough) wondering how/if the thousands-a-day influx of illegal immigrants has effected those of you down south-west/what you think of it. You know, get a picture of the political landscape,as it were, of this site before i say anything rash.

Listen broheims I am from CA, the largest economy in the united states( that means we make and spend more money here than anywhere in the US.) We have a very crippeling problem here. So many people get the medical care, the education, the jobs, the rent control, the money that should be going to our families. I am all for immigration i think it makes us all stronger and more united, but with that said ( being part native american) there is no reason for someone to violate the laws of the country they wish to be a part of. Come to the US, but if your choice is to break our laws to get here then we have way to many of your kind here already, and take whats coming to you.

and part of the law that is broke is coming illegal. We have a couple of people that work for us that came here legal and are now citizens.

The problem is not just in the south western states, it affects all the states, at one time their where illegals in Chicago that were deported. I've worked with many legals (not born in USA), so thats not the problem, the problems are illegals, they are breaking our laws, abusing our system and should be deported, not feed and housed. When the Gov't decides to really stop all illegal border crossings it would be a good day. Medical, welfare, food stamps cost alone for illegal's are mind numbing each year. $$$$$$$

Well here's the rub in CA, and most of the states, these immigrants pay income-tax if they manage to land a job...so they do pay income taxes...but it dosent stop there. They had to forge a ssn and if they did that then no one but our wonderful government can call them out for it NOT even their employer, I know because i found a woman working under a dead persons ssn at our buisness....and i couldn't fire her... is that right? It's unreal how screwed up this thing is. The employee has to go to the social security office and settle it themselves and i'm sure they all do that ( are you picking up my sarcasm?) So basically we pay this person a good honest wage and then find out they are a complete liar and a criminal and if we fire them for that we can, and probably will be, sued. Immigration is a really tough issue because we cant stop it, we can only try to accept or punish those that disregaurd our legal system.

Oh btw, we pay over 100k a year in health insurance because the immigrants work for 90 days and then claim disability, aint that a female dog.

even in oregon we have a bunch of illegal immigrants, it's almost like they spill over from CA cause it's getting to full. They leach off the system, especially welfare,like crazy. I was talking to a U.S. customs officer at the Dulles airport, Wash. D.C. He said border patrol officials are shot at daily by drug runners.There would be, if evenly distributed, 1 border patrol agent for every 5 miles of border.90% of people crossing the border illegally aren't farm workers, or poor mexicans seeking a better future, they're criminals of all different types, mainly drug runners, who refuse to come here the right way for good reason. Tuberculosis and polio were totally eradicated from The US until recently because government health officials are not able to screen illegals and treat them before they spread their diseases. It is estimated by the border patrol, along with help from the minute- men, that approxamatly 300 illegals cross the border each day. If 300 illegals cross the border a day, so can 300 terrorists. And wouldn't ya know it, John muhammed, the D.C. area sniper from a few years back came here illegally from mexico. But will congress build a wall? Oh no! that would be racist! No, it's racist to keep your country secure. Instead, they might consider building a fence, because that's impenatrable. Neither the democrats in congress nor the republicans will do anything decisive on this issue, because they are afraid of the political repercussions. None of them seem to have the best intrest of the country in mind, just that of their political carreer. It's no wonder the govenor of New Mexico has declared NM in a State of Emergency. I am sick and tired of watching our government twiddle their thumbs while we are invaded.

if the goverment does do some thing about it, you're going to be whining about the inflation of house prices, and other illegal imigrant made stuff, because you're forgetting that you have to pay the legal people minimum wage instead of 2 dollars an hour. Alot of Mexicans go to my school, and from the stories I've heard I wouldn't want to stay there either.

Terrorists come here illegally. they kill americans
Terribly violent gangs come here by bits and pieces, illegally. they kill americans
Drug runners do anything to get there cargo to the consumer. this involves anything from trespassing to murder.
there are also some honest workers, who only hurt us economically
The sensitive americans say, "We don't want to appear rude! And we like cheap houses."
Tell me, how did we manage to live with expensive houses before illegal immigration?
