Last night my Lab messed with a skunk. He then slipped inside and stared rolling on the carpet of the new house. After several baths with all the commercial shampoos, tomato juice, a hour long swim followed by more baths he still stinks. Any suggestions ? At this point I'll try anything short of a .45 Kurt

Ive heard amonia added to the list of things you mentioned...
But then you exchange one bad smell for another.

Yes, there is a very popular mixture used by many falconers lately that has baking soda in it. Remember that skunk spray is an oil based substance so anything that will break down an oil as well as mask a scent is needed. I will get the mixture for you and post it.
