Well, Here is my new pup I broke down and got. It was one of those situations that I couldn't pass. He was bred from a friend/falconer in Georgia. His momma is a falconry dog and his father is a blood tracker(mostly deer). So he comes from full hunting stock and has a nose on him. I watched him trail a 24hr old blood trail the day I picked him up. He is 2months old and has been doing great on rabbit and squirrel drags. He looks a lot diffrent than most skinny nosed dachs. He is a beefy little dog and the WH Dachs are a lot more out going than any other Dachs I've seen. Right now he looks more like a JRT in the face to me. Hope you like the pics. -Zach

Good looking pup. Those are kind of expensive dogs aren't they?

Well, Like I said it was a hard deal to pass up and they usually run about 800.00. He was 500.00 and since the breeder is a friend he said I can make payments. He is really excited that I got him since I live close and he can see him work with a bird. I guess no one really knows about them down in So. Georgia. Oh well, their lose is my gain. So, the price, payment option, hunting stock, all were to good to pass up.-Zach

He already looks ruined...On the couch? All jokes aside I had 2 recently now down to one and they are excellent dogs. Fearless almost to a fault! It is almost impossible to hide something that they know from them....You will not be dissapointed!

Very nice little guy. What a fat happy thing. Best of luck to you both. (sounds like a wedding wish) My mother has a Mini Dach female that she has tried to breed 2 times now. Hasn't taken, so we are hoping the 3rd time is the charm. Mom's girl has quite the hunting instinct. I have my fingers crossed....cuz I get 2nd pick after the stud's owner gets 1st pick.

Looking for a Good Home for a Wire haired Dach that has great potential for a rabbit dog. I really want him to go to a falconer or hunter cause he is from hunting stock. His mother was a active falconry dog and his dad was a Blood tracker for deer. This dog has the genes to track blood, rabbit, and squirrel. He is very good on rabbit/squirrel drags and loves the game. I can't think of one thing he that he likes more than to get his chompers on a rabbit. I just really have no rabbits in my area and belive I'm just wasting his skills. If anybody is intrested I love to talk more about him. These dogs are not as common as the other Dachs and the ones that I have seen go for 800.00. I got a good deal on him from a falconer friend for 500.00. I like to get 300.00 obo for him but I'm more intrested in getting him a owner that has more time than me and will actually use him. He is outgoing and has a large prey drive just needs more time in the field. He knows what a hawk is but hasen't been under one due to my tail wanting to kill him. -Zach
