There would be two basic stages to owning a Gyr. First, you need to be a General falconer. Second, you need to be independantly wealthy to buy one...... ;D

indapendantly wealthy ? that's putting it mildly do you know what the average female gyr can cost? then to protect that invest ment there is all the telamentry equipement. Crap indapendantly wealthy sure how about loaded enough that if the bird excapes you worry more about the bird's health than the 20 or so grand that just f#@%&* off across the land scape at 70 miles an hour.  |

Ah, You just have to in good with a breeder or get a job with the PFund. I ain't paying no 20 thousand for a bird thats for sure. I have to look into that, they are really that much? Which breeders have you spoke with? If it's that much I'll go with a large Peregrine or hybrid. A nice peales bird would do just fine.

The Question was "in california what stage can you posses this raptor?''. So between that and the talk of expense what more expirence do we need. I think you be surprized to find out what a few falconers that haven't flown gyrs could offer on the subject.
