ok when bam bam gets transferd to me I see but one obsticle i will have to cross. she is a 4 yr old fhh that has never ever been around dogs. I have four dogs. So any of you guys that have some tips on introducing the hh to the dogs without conflict let me know. My rt was around the dog from the day he was trapped so i had no problems there. so what do you got?
P.S. I will not be hunting the hh with the dogs so we dont have to worrie bout that i just need her to not freak out everytime she shes a dog when she is in her mew or perched in her yard.

Riker, it seems some Harris hawks never get along with dogs due to contact with South Texas coyotes at an early age, while others do fine. I would tie her where the dogs and her can not get together and let her eat and the dogs eat. If they will eat close to each other and see that they are not bothered they may accept additional training together. JMHO I would also get a hold of Desert Hawking II and see what Harry has to say about training dogs with the Harris. He is the master at passage harris hawking.

Threat assessment is learned behavior. As long as the dogs pose no threat Bam-Bam will probably adjust to them. BTW tell Debbie now that she will be closer I will be looking forward to hunting with her. Yarak

Like yarak says......Repetition will also help. Just make sure that the outcome is favorable and keep repeating it. Start with the dogs far away and slowly get closer.
