That's excellent, one of the fines ones I have seen, the only thing I would do to that is get it up off of the ground about 12 to 16 inches so dampness doesn't rot the floor and sides. Learned that from raising pigeons over forty years. I have a double mew also I'll try to get a picture if I can figure out how, e-mail and let me know how you sent your pic. I re-converted a large cattle feeder in two sections with a walk way in the middle that has an outer door and two inner doors which will go to either chamber. The roof extends about seven feet over the front of the mews where I have my outside mew.

I have to come over and check that out. That's awesome. Did you build it yourself? Nice small mammal trap too. Does that go toward your head count?

Not towards head count, but it sure helps the moult feeding ;D The mew cost me just over $2000 to build. It has electricity and a work area in the middle. I had a mini fridge in there, but the only thing I seemed to keep in it was beer anyway.... ;D...so I took it out for the time being...

Honestly west nile is a thing of the past. A bird here and there will still die from it, but it's not something to lose amy sleep over. And the answer is no the windows are not covered.
