I was thinking about using a shed and then putting 2 dog kennels in front of it as a weathering area.

The problems that I have with sheds is that they aren't made that great. Everyone that I have looked at lately needs a lot of work done to the inside to make it safe for free lofting. I will say that I found a HD vinyl shed made by royal that is great if you can mount a window. They are all vinyl and have a bird safe intierior that is smooth with no edges. I'm really thinking of buying and installing a window. The 10x8 "Woodbridge" runs around 798.00. They take about 4-5hrs to install yourself. I belive that it is something that I can take down and move when I move from here. Check them out www.royaloutdoor.com/products.html

No, a kennel is the same thing as a crate not a run.

Well I broke down and bought a new chamber that I almost have up. It's from Royal Outdoors and it's a vinyl decour shed 8x6.5. The panels are extrud vinyl that interlock together. I know what your thinking and it's not like the blown plastic sheds from RubberMaid and Black and Decker. This one is tough and can take 100mph winds. I even hauled off and punched the display shed that home depo had up. It suffered probally less than I did. The thing I like about it is that I can take it down in pieces and transport it when I move. It dosen't rot ,clean up should be quite easy (since it's vinyl), and it is seemless on the inside (nothing the bird can really hurt himself on)". I also like the fact it dosen't heat up like plastic. The panels are about 2.5 inches wide and hollow with vertical stiffners running thorughout. Well it's hard to explain but I'll post pictures tomarrow when I get the other windows bars in. Then I only have to put perches in the thing. Plus drill a couple of holes for drainage in the floor. Here are some pics

Looks great! How about some pics of the inside. I am thinking about making one of these into a third mews so I can have an extra bird in the future.

I'll get pictures up of the inside when I get the perches up. The inside looks a lot like the outside (smooth). I'm still trying to decide how I want to install the perches since it has hollow panels. I'm probally going to set up a shelf perch by the small window. Then either a full runner from side to side or a perch like yours weasel. Probally have to attach it with lag screws and large washers from the outside. I probally should of cut some wood to slide down the panels on the inside before I framed in the windows. Did y'all check out the website I posted earlier it has all the shed on it.

its only half done.....i am hoping to be done by July 4th. I did change it though and am only making it 8x8x8 instead of 16x8x8. I cannot remember who, but a wise man suggested it...... ........So be it...LOL

I just got the panneling up on my mews the other day. I now have an 8x16 box in the back yard. I still need to cut out the door and windows, finish roofing it, and it'll be pretty much done.
