So, anyone else get this book yet? I had to order one I couldn't wait for a review. On a scale from 1-10 what do you rate it? I can't wait to get it.-Zach

Thought I'd try to get some feedback for Mike from those who have read the book. Kurt

I think the book is outside my area of knowledge and usage. I am enjoying it and can see where the patterns and proper use of the book will benefit those working with accipiters but I am not one of those being a lowly apprentice. I would still recommend the book but really can’t comment much deeper than that on it…<br> Lee

For what it's worth, here's my review:
I think its a whole lot better than his first one. Much better written and the pictures are way better too. Best action pictures anywhere. The writing is different too. Its not a normal falconry book--more like a car repair manuel. He did something new. He put other peoples ideas first .and used facts instead of his own opinions. Very mature. I say buy a couple copies and save one for an investment--he'll sell out quick from the looks of things. I giev 5 out of 5.

I just got the new book (ABP) yesterday. I've read the first 25 pages or so. It is very technical and he warns in the book that it is NOT for the beginner. I DO think that anyone interested in an accipiter should invest in it ASAP, because like his first book I'm sure it will go fast and become a collectors item. I can't wait for the rewrite of The Imprint to come out.

I just finished the new book ABP. The first half of the book deals with interpreting the data from the surveys the author sent out. He breaks down the different goups such as carrying, agression, screaming, etc. He even breaks down the aggresion category into sub sections based on what part of the body is targeted, face, hands, feet, etc. The second half of the book is case studies and appendices. I think that overall the book is very good yet VERY technical. I also believe that most of the problem solving can be applied to other species of birds. All in all I would recomend any hardcore falconer get this book, especially if you are going to fly an accipiter or take on a second hand/ problem bird. Lots of good info on carrying....Weasel.
