Anyone have any experience with these? I am looking to make one in preparation of the possible coops I may trap. I wanted to see what different designs are out there.

I'm no help here, but here's something to make you jealous. In the last week at the vet clinic we've gotten 3 more coops all passage one female and 2 more males. That's the first female of the year. There should be plenty of coops for you flying around come trapping season. i can't remember the last time we got this many immy coops in.

I'm still keeping my eye on the three that are at the local park to me. When I ride my bike there I can see the three immies. Look(best I can tell) that there are two males and 1 female there as well as the adults of which I have only seen the male lately. I plan on trying to toss the trap come Sept.15th!

At the Wildlife center we use Xray film from the vet to make tail protectors. It works pretty good. I also kow that northwoods sells one.

Can you use tail protectors on free lofted birds? I've never used one, but it seems helpfull for one of my black kites...

It should not be a problem. I have used them on free lofted coops before. - I should clarify for any lurking state or feds officials that the rehab place I work with has used them not me personally. ;D
