Looks a lot like a juvie Harris Hawk and a male too more than likely.

I do also beleive that that is a juvie harris. they do range very far in to mexico and i beleive south aberica so it would not be weird to see one in mexico. so out of curiosty Redtail boy what is it???

I just wanted to be the tenth person to say I too think it is a passage harris hawk. You would think that after 3 or 4 people said it the dogpile would end. Also I'm still waiting to hear what RTB thinks it is since he is the only one who sain not a HH.

If it is a Harris it must be a tropical sub specie as I have never seen as much streaking on an immature Harris in Texas. JMHO

After taking a few minutes digging through my "Raptors of the World" book I'd be inclined to say it looks like a "Double-toothed Kite." Same range area, same habitat type and coloration and markings look the same. It does appear to be an immature bird though...
I tried to Google some pics of the Double-toothed Kite but couldn't seem to locate any decent juvie pics but from the book in my hands and the color plate drawing that is my guess.

Hi, I'm new here. I agree with Lee about the bird being a double-toothed kite, it looks very similar to the picture in my bird book.
