With the new passage Harris I plan to get next season, I want to do some night hawking. I live in an urban area so I will more than likely be under parking lot lights and roost hawk birds. I have often wondered what it's like to night hawk with a spotlight though. Do the birds get confused with the shadows?

yes to start with....there footing is a little awkward....but they soon get to grips with it.....rabbits know there surroundings even in the dark.......and will give any bird a good run for its money. kev

i use 2 of the local golf courses for hawking with the lamp,
its good open ground plus lamping allows me to hunt on this ground, cant hawk on there at all during the day.

i have 2 a 12v 17ah and a 12v 20ah
i can go out for 3-4 hrs at a time and one will last the duration,, but of course it is'nt on all the time.
using a lamp that size it does zap the power

Ok, End of season was today for Ruger and I. Had a great last hunt with a nice Double. We ended the season with a even 20 Grey squirrels. The trees are budding and the weather warming. Squirrels are harder to find and the females carrying young. Can't wait for next season all ready. Good luck to all still hunting and stay safe.

Buzz had a great season. I got to hunt a lot, too. We started out early and the season isn't over yet. But i haven't been keeping track of the snakes she's tagged. Do you guys count the mice also? 26 squirrels, 28 bunnies and 1 (very slow) dove... and we're going out again tonight ;D

I have had some wonderful memorable flights this year! On one occasion, Buzz stooped at a bunny and missed. She hit the ground so hard she (honestly and without exageration) bounced a foot in the air!
Oh... Add bushy tail # 27 to the count ;D Buzz got it last night.

Put Scarlett up for molt after hunting her today. Finished with 35 rabbits and one squirrel. Kurt
