I heard through the grapevine that the feds are currently expierincing great delays while processing permit requests and renewals. The wait time right now is 2-3 months. If you submit your request 30 days prior to expiration you may still operate under your old permit.

The feds aren't taking that long to process your permits... I got my state permit exactly one month (to the day) that it was sent in. I got my federal permit exactly one week later. Maybe that's just the Colorado region but it was extremely quick!

Ya, the feds have different regions and each region seems to have different response times when it comes to processing permits. Some take three weeks and some take three months. I wouldn't worry about how long it's taking in any region other than yours. Go by the experiences of those in your own region.

I just passed Facilities and equipment inspection today and the Certificate of Registration(COR)(Utah) application is in the mail. I was told about a week for Utah and 2+ months for the Federal Once I get the COR Where do I get the Federal application? Anybody want to help me out with that one? Bob Ritchie Orem, UT

Hmmm...Not sure as here in Texas we have a permit application that is in triplicate. One for us, one for Texas and one for the feds. We just fill it out and send them to their destinations. I would suggest calling the game department and asking them....Unless we have another person from Utah here?

He put a light on his GyrSaker this year and he's almost done with the moult. I'll be helping with his training this year while we wait for trapping season. I'm going by there tonight to get him to write a letter for the Federal Application (will submit after I receive the State Certification).

Utah is separate and you basically wait a week for the State and 2+ months for Denver to get with the program for the Federal Permit (from what I hear). I'd like to know the reasoning behind taking two+ months. Maybe they're really busy. The officer that inspected my equipment/mews yesterday stated that he had inspected about 20 this year here in Utah, That seem's like a lot! Bob Bob
