How many falconers use a staff or hunting stick in the field?
I rescued a hickory rake handle, I installed a washer and spike on the bottom.
I'll try and get a pic posted. Wes

I use one all the time. They are nice to beat the brush with. Most of the time I steal Waeses bamboo or just use pvc with some loose material in it.

I am now using a stick made out of a type of Japanese wood. Super strong, but a bit heavier than I like.

Alot heavier unfortunatly. Not as easy to beat brush as it is with a bamboo pole.

I use an aluminum shooting stick thats light weight but strong, a plus is it's collapsable. Wouldn't have bought it just as a staff but my long range shooting needs all the help I can get. Kurt

I know of someone using this antlered staff. I liked the look of it and think I will try to make one to see how it works. My friend gave me a few full racks of antlers and I've collected some dogwood staves. Have to wait for them to dry out a few months now. I will keep the weight factor in mind. This should be fun!

If you use an antler fork it makes a great rest for rifle or camera lens. ;D
